American Fair Credit Council Launches COVID-19 Financial Resource Center
Provides State and Federal Website Listings of Financial Assistance Programs
to Aid Consumers and Small Businesses
Fort Lauderdale, FL – April 10, 2020 – The American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) has launched a COVID-19 resource center to assist consumers impacted by the recent nationwide response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Consumers may now search for helpful resources and links to state and federal programs related to unemployment insurance, replacing health insurance coverage lost to termination and locate state and federal financial assistance for workers and small businesses impacted by the social distancing mitigation response.
The AFCC has also published a blog designed to help consumer better manage their personal finances during a time when many have lost jobs, been furloughed or seen steep reductions in salary. The blog contains detailed information about budgeting and financial management during a crisis and explains the numerous relief programs offered by creditors and mortgage companies as well as state and federal financial stimulus and relief programs.
Robby Birnbaum, President of the AFCC commented, “as our nation works in concert to stop the transmission of the Coronavirus through social distancing mitigation efforts, vulnerable consumers find themselves lacking the important resources and information required to take action to register to receive their share of the Trillions of dollars available in financial assistance. The AFCC’s COVID-19 Resource Center centralizes important information about financial assistance programs organized by state and provides expert guidance to help avoid financial stress during this unprecedented event.”
